Filipino-American singer Malaya Watson has been voted out on “American Idol” Season 13.
A report on Detroit Free Press said Watson, 16, got "mixed reviews" for her performance of Chaka Khan’s "Through the Fire" during Thursday's (Friday in Manila) episode.
Both Watson and CJ Harris were in the bottom 2 together, but it was Watson who got the lowest votes.
For her final performance, Watson sang “I Am Changing” by Jennifer Hudson.
Detroit Free Press said it was “an emotional goodbye” for Watson, adding her parents Ron Watson and Marian Bandico were among the audience.
Watson, a tuba player from Southfield High, is expected to be part of the national “American Idol” tour set later this year. — KBK, GMA News
